Join us for a panel discussion about writing art history (and history, broadly understood) for popular audiences.

Our panel:

Koenraad Jonckheere is an art historian based at Ghent University, Belgium, a partner institution of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. He is an expert in early modern Netherlandish and Flemish art and writes just as easily about contemporary visual culture. Koen is the author of Instagrammable: What Art Tells Us About Social Media (2024) and A New History of Western Art (2022).

Victoria Donovan is a specialist in Ukrainian and East European Studies at the School of Modern Languages. She is the author of Life in Spite of Everything: Tales from the Ukrainian East (2025).

Justine Firnhaber-Baker is an expert on late medieval France based at the School of History. She is the author of House of Lilies: The Dynasty that Made Medieval France (2025).
