ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Prize for the Environment winner 2022We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2022 ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Prize for the Environment is Misión Tiburón for their community-based project to protect and restore blue carbon sinks. Misión Tiburón will receive a $100,000 cash prize to further their efforts in the Hammerhead Shark Sanctuary in Costa Rica.

Principal and Vice-Chancellor’s trip to the USPrincipal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone recently visited New York City and Washington DC. She was joined in New York by Professor Christian Rutz at the Explorers Club where he gave a presentation about his latest research on animal-tracking tags. In Washington, Principal Mapstone was joined by alumni, parents and friends of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø at the British Embassy where she gave a talk on the latest University updates.

Service of Thanksgiving for Her Majesty the QueenThe University is holding a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on Saturday 26 November at 2pm in St Salvator’s Chapel. The next meeting of the General Council of the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will take place on Saturday 26 November at 10.30am in Parliament Hall, South Street, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø KY16 9JU. Tea and coffee will be available from 10.00am.
The Chancellor, Lord Campbell of Pittenweem, will preside and the Principal, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone, will deliver the University Address. In addition, there will be a presentation by the Vice-Principal Education (Proctor) entitled: ‘Is it for better or for worse? How the pandemic has changed teaching and assessment at the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪.
