Dr Leshu Torchin wrote a (Inna  Sahakyan, 2023) at the request of American television’s longest running showcase for independent nonfiction films, POV, which screens these selections on PBS.

These guides are designed to help a wide range of audiences think more deeply about issues in a film, and to help educators and activists  that film for teaching and/or taking action.

Drawing on her expertise on genocide and media activism and her research into the Armenian genocide, this guide offers accessible (non-academic) historical and cultural background, overviews of the activist campaigns (and their use of media) at the time, reflections on animation in documentary, and discussion prompts.
