Biography
Dr. Jo Mhairi Hale received her PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Davis in 2016 then completed a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Germany in 2018, and has been at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ever since. She is dedicated to shedding light on the stark and far-reaching consequences of sociopolitical inequalities in hopes of contributing to dismantling power structures that perpetuate those inequities. She has focused primarily on population health disparities and disparities in outcomes for Mexican migrants to the USA, but is starting a new line of research with the to study the health impacts of climate change.
