GSIS Community Fund: VOICE Symposium
On Wednesday 25 March our Gender Studies MLitt students, in collaboration with students from the Women, Writing and Gender MLitt, hosted the sold-out VOICE Symposium. With over fifty attendees, the afternoon amounted to a brilliant showcase of research being undertaken by students all over Scotland, responding to a call for papers which highlight feminist topics overlooked within academic settings.
Financial support from both the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies and St Leonard’s College Community Funds allowed the organisers to provide refreshments, advertise the event to students outwith the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, and fund the travel of those attending from external Institutions. This ensured the conference could remain a free event, open to as many people as possible and enabled many early-career feminist researchers to present their work for the first time.
Our is available to current GSIS students. For more information on this and other available funding please see our funding pages or contact gradschool@st-andrews.ac.uk.
