Add supporting content to processes in Ardoq ShiftX
Updated on: 6 April 2026
Learn how to add supporting information, links or documents to a process.
What is supporting content?
Supporting content is extra information, like links or documents, linked to a process or step.
It is used for things that do not belong in the main flow, such as:
- assumptions
- risks
- constraints
- pain points
- improvement ideas
This keeps the process clear while capturing useful detail.
Why supporting content matters
Supporting content helps keep knowledge from being lost.
It shows not just what happens, but why it happens and where problems exist. This supports better understanding and improvement decisions.
When to use supporting content
Use supporting content to:
- explain why a step is done a certain way
- record known issues or risks
- capture feedback from users
This helps others understand the process more fully.
How to add supporting content
Before you start to add supporting content to a process, you must be editing a process in the process editor.
Things like steps, decisions, loops and components are added directly to the process flow. Supporting content is added separately. If you are not sure how to edit a process, see Create and update processes in ShiftX.
To add supporting content:
- open the process in the editor
- select the step or area where you want to add information
- select Content from the right‑hand panel
- enter the information, such as risks or pain points
- type / to access formatting options
Content saves automatically.
Use clear headings, for example Risks or Pain points, and list items underneath each heading. Press Enter to add new sections if needed.
