Carnegie Masters Grants - Apply Now

6 May 2026

The Carnegie Education Fund has launched a new grant scheme to help more people in Scotland access postgraduate study.

Carnegie Masters Grants will support students living in low‑income households in Scotland to undertake a taught or research master’s degree at a Scottish university.

The application pedriod for the 2026-27 academic year will opened 1 May 2026, with the applicant guide now available for prospective students.

The scheme is designed for students who:

  • Are ordinarily resident in Scotland
  • Live in low‑income households
  • Have applied for, or secured, a place on an eligible taught master’s course beginning in 2026/27

How to apply

The application period opened on 1 May 2026 and must be submitted directly to Carnegie Education Fund by students by 31 July 2026. Applicants will be asked to provide information about their background, circumstances, and chosen course - see the Carnegie Education Fund website for .
