Target audience
Staff who are new Reviewers on STARS. You must have a category of Advance HE fellowship and completed the Reviewing expressions of interest form prior to booking.
Course pre-work
Will be circulated in advance. To read and provide feedback on two exemplar applications.
Course information
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Recognition Scheme (STARS) is an Advance HE accredited scheme that provides participants with structured opportunities and support to reflect on their practice and prepare a claim for recognition against one of the following Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023) Descriptors, as appropriate to their context: D1 (Associate Fellow), D2 (Fellow), or D3 (Senior Fellow).  Recognition judgements are made by university colleagues who have been trained as STARS Reviewers.
This briefing provides induction training for those new to Reviewing on STARS. Please read the beforehand. This session will include:
- A brief comparison of PSF Descriptors D1, D2 and D3
- An explanation of STARS processes
- An explanation of your role as a Reviewer
To complete your Reviewer Induction training, you must also attend one STARS Mentor/Reviewer Benchmarking Training session.
Aims and objectives
By the end of the briefing participants should be able to:
- Explain the PSF2023 and the requirements for different categories of Fellowship
- Explain your responsibilities as a Reviewer on STARS
