Information

This programme is designed to get you thinking differently about your role as a manager and to give you practical tools you can use straight away.
Ìý
We’ll start by focusing on one of the most important parts of management - communicating well with colleagues and direct reports and understanding the impact you have on your team culture.
Ìý

On Day 2, we’ll shift the focus to your service area, looking at how to regularly review what’s working, what could be improved, and how to build a culture of continuous improvement. We’ll also explore skills gap analysis to help make sure your team has the right skills, knowledge, and behaviours to support those improvements. We will also look at workload, productivity, and strengths.

Day 3 continues the journey by looking Team Resilience helping you think about how to support a productive team without people becoming overloaded or burnt out. ÌýWe’ll also focus on you as a manager - what development and support do you need going forward?

The programme will conclude with an Action Learning Set, where managers will have the opportunity to bring along a real-life management challenge and gain ideas and perspectives from peers. Depending on time, 1-2 participants will be able to explore their situation in more depth with the group.

To make the most of the time together, there will be some short pre-programme activities before each of the three sessions. A link to the Moodle page and resources will be shared before the programme begins.

The programme is designed to be practical, engaging, and inclusive, with plenty of opportunities to share experiences and learn from each other in a supportive environment.

We’d also encourage you to set aside some time throughout the programme to reflect on your learning and discuss key insights and actions with your nominating manager.
