Research culture missions

We create the research culture we participate in. We own it through our behaviours, our words and our actions. The responsibility is on us individually and collectively to ensure that our research culture is that which we aspire for it to be.

Based on insights from our research culture surveys and ongoing engagement with our research community through various forums, we have developed this action plan to clearly articulate our priorities and provide a shared framework to guide our collective efforts in strengthening the research culture across the institution.

Although this plan spans a three-year period, we recognise the dynamic and often challenging nature of the research environment. To ensure our actions remain relevant and responsive, we will review the plan annually and adjust our focus as needed. This is therefore by its very nature a living document.

Our action plan is directly aligned with our core research culture mission statements. Each priority and activity is mapped to these guiding principles, ensuring a coherent and values-driven approach to enhancing our research environment.

  • Equity, diversity, equality, and inclusion in research
  • Interdisciplinarity and collaboration
  • Career development and work-life balance
  • Open and responsible research and innovation
