Before you arrive checklist
Below are the steps you must complete before coming to the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø as an exchange or study abroad student.

After you have confirmed your offer of a place, you will receive an email with your University username and instructions on how to activate your University account and email.
You must activate your account in order to complete online registration and make module choices.

If you are an undergraduate study abroad student intending to reside in University halls, you must apply for accommodation before the appropriate deadline to be guaranteed a place.
Deadline dates
Semester 1 entry: 30 June
Semester 2 entry: 15 November
Postgraduate students are are welcome to apply for one of the University's halls of residence and are normally offered University owned, managed or leased accommodation which is reserved for postgraduate students.

Students will be expected to complete the online part of matriculation through the student portal, , before attending advising, where possible.

You must apply for your student ID (matriculation) card as soon as possible to allow time to produce your card ready for your arrival. Cards are normally collected at matriculation during Orientation week.
Your card serves as your identification as a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø student, is used to gain access to many buildings (including the Library and Union), and is used to check out books from the library.

Before arriving in the UK, you must make sure you have the correct insurance or health care coverage for your visa status.
Get the MenACWY vaccine
All students under 25 must get the MenACWY vaccine before arriving in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. New university students are at higher risk of infection from meningitis and septicaemia, and the MenACWY vaccine protects against several meningococcal bacterial groups. You should contact your home healthcare professional to get the vaccine.

MMR vaccine
You should also have had the full double dose of MMR vaccine to protect you from measles, mumps and rubella regardless of age. If you have not had both doses, you should contact your health practitioner to arrange this before leaving to come to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
Prepare medications
If you are an international student, you should check if your medication is registered and licensed for use in the UK before you arrive.
If your medication is not permitted in the UK, you should get advice from your doctor at home about what alternatives you could access.

Disabilities
If you have a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition, you should get in touch with the Disability Team so they can help make any necessary arrangements before your arrival.

You will be invited to submit your provisional course choices to the University during pre-advising using the online academic advising system.
During Orientation you will be able to discuss and finalise your course selection with your Adviser of Studies who can give further advice, approve and change your selection where necessary.
