Governance
The University is governed by a number of key officials and three main bodies, University Court, the Academic Senate and the General Council. The Chancellor is the head of the University and the Principal and Vice-Chancellor is responsible for running the institution.
Dame Anne Pringle is the Chancellor of the University and ordinary President of the General Council and is vested with the power of conferring degrees.
Professor Dame Sally Mapstone FRSE is the Principal and Vice-Chancellor and is responsible for the overall running of the institution as well as its strategic direction.

The Principal's Office brings together the University's senior managers, each responsible for a specific area of University activity.
The University Court is the governing body of the University.
The University Senate, or Senatus Academicus, is the supreme academic body of the University.
The General Council of the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is the body of all graduates and senior academics of the University.
The University has four faculties, each managed by a Dean and supported by Pro Deans.
