The Associate Dean acts with full authority on behalf of the Dean of Learning and Teaching. 

Responsibilities

• Review and approval of module results and study abroad grade conversions.
• Chair of Academic Monitoring Group.
• Lead on CELPiE’s Continuing Professional Development Programme.
• Academic leadership of the Laidlaw programme in collaboration with the Associate Dean Education (Arts and Divinity).
• Responding to issues raised by External Examiners in the Faculties of Science and Medicine.
• Contributing to student progression reviews and the resolution of appeals.
• Monitoring activities relevant to Professional, Regulatory and Statutory Bodies (PSRBs).
• Representing the Dean of Learning and Teaching on academic appointment panels.
• Fostering expertise in learning and teaching among academic colleagues.
• In consultation with the Proctor's Office, leading academic fora and dissemination events.
• Policy development and review.

Sharon is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Geography and Sustainable Development. She is a former Director of Teaching, Pro-Dean Curriculum and Associate Dean Students within the Faculties of Science and Medicine. Sharon is committed to fostering excellence and inclusivity in teaching and learning at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
