AAM report pro forma questions

The Annual Academic Monitoring report contains the following questions. A link to the MS Form will be shared via email in January each year.

Questions 6 and 7 should be written with student representatives, as specified. 

  1. Please select your School or Department. 
  2. Reflect on what is currently working well in relation to teaching and learning within your School. Consider areas such as curriculum design, delivery methods, student engagement and staff collaboration. In particular, please comment on any changes you may have made to module assessment as a result of the Curriculum Delivery Review project. Your answer should take a holistic approach to all provision types in your School or Department. (limited to 300 words)
  3. Identify and reflect on the principal challenges your School or Department is facing in relation to teaching, learning and PGR experience. These may include topics such as pedagogical issues, student support needs, or institutional barriers. (limited to 300 words)
  4. What actions would you like to see implemented to drive positive change in teaching, learning and PGR experience within your School. These actions may be at the local School or Department level or across the wider university. (limited 300 words)
  5. What examples of excellent practice or innovation in teaching and learning from your School or Department would you like to see showcased at the academic monitoring dissemination event? (limited to 300 words)
  6. From the perspective of student feedback and engagement, work with your School President and PG reps to reflect on what is working well in your School or Department and where students have experienced challenges consider both formal and informal feedback mechanisms when compiling this answer. (limited to 300 words) (This response should be written collaboratively by the DoT and School President and PG representatives.
  7. Provide a succinct report on the progress and effectiveness of the PGR teaching support in your School or Department over the past academic year. Highlight areas of success, development needs, and any support structures in place. (limited to 300 words) (This response should be written collaboratively by the Director of Teaching and PGR representative in your School or Department.)
  8. If applicable, outline the quality assurance processes for non-credit-bearing short courses, including learner feedback mechanisms, any resulting enhancements, and reflections on achievement, completion, further study pathways (where applicable), and overall learner satisfaction.
  9. Please provide the names of the student representatives consulted regarding questions 6 and 7 of this report, and outline how the full report was discussed with them.
  10. Has this report been discussed with, and approved by, the Head of School and the Teaching Committee. If no, please state the reason in the comment box.
