IELLI Staff nominated for teaching awards

17 April 2026

Since 2009/10, the Students' Association has organised the Teaching Awards to recognise the excellent teaching that happens in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. The awards aim to identify best practice throughout the University and give students the opportunity to thank the individuals who helped to shape their learning experience. In 2023-2024, the awards were renamed as the '1413 Teaching Excellence Awards' in recognition of six centuries of instructional excellence at the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

This year, Lesley Thirkell has been shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Professional Service Staff member’, while Amritesh Singh was shortlisted for 'Outstanding Commitment to Academic Inclusivity'.

In addition, the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Inclusive Teaching awards highlight excellence in inclusive pedagogy, create opportunities for self-reflection and dialogue and motivate good practices in anti-racist teaching. This year, Dr Xuan Minh Ngo has been recognised at the awards for his work on the module ET5526/ET5626 Online Programme Design.

Finally, Lori Leigh Davis has received a Golden Dandelion award for excellence in Sustainable Development for her module ET5507/ET5607 Leadership and Management in International Education.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!
